Cyprus Property Expo. 23rd -25th April 2010. Nicosia State Fair. 28/04/2010

It’s still early days, but Cyprus’ property market maybe recovering slowly if responses at the recently held Property Expo 2010 is anything to go by.

The Annual Property exhibition definitely witnessed record visitors although the official attendance figures have not yet been released / announced.

Is it merely a price correction (reductions up to -30%) that has lured consumers / prospective purchasers back to the property market ?                                                  Most in the industry feel it is this correction ……..but it is also a combination of how poorly other alternative markets are currently performing…i.e. Stock Markets / Currency Markets etc.  Making property once again, seem so much more attractive for investors.

"We did not anticipate such a turnout for this exhibition, especially since market sentiment has been very negative especially over the last 12 months. It really has come as a pleasant surprise. In fact we are now confident, based on the enquiries / leads of accomplishing significant sales in the coming weeks. Developers have become much more flexible and consumer-centric. In general the focus of this property exhibition was on affordable housing — which has been the flavour of season. We did however also have a good response for our two top end Nicosia & Larnaca Developments” Mr. Andros Andronicou – Sales & Marketing Manager.

If the exhibition’s visitors are considered a yardstick, then this may mean that at last the Cyprus Property market is finally on a revival path.
